Oh my gosh, I must tell you, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't glad that the kid's birthday season is officially closed for the year! Hahaha. But I have been told, and do believe, that these moments don't last forever.
One day, even our youngest will have flown the coop, and all we will have is photos and memories.
Hopefully, the kids will be near enough to us that we'll still have "special day" celebrations and we'll still make a fuss out of Christmas.
And as exhausting a it is now, soon it will get a lot quieter around the house as desks and cupboards are emptied and bedrooms are left behind.
For now, we still have a few more years to squeeze in as much as we can. And then I suppose it's a whole new ball game with Grandchildren! Gosh, I can't even get my head around that. It's hard enough to get my head around our youngest having turned 14, and our eldest, who has turned 18, speaking of travel and work overseas.
What happened to our little kiddiewinkles?
@matthew-williams had an absolutely fantastic time with his friends, and we were all covered in icing, chocolate, and smiles by the end of the evening... and that's what counts!
