Good day and happy weekend, amazing people of the Hive Block Chain! Welcome back to my blog. Happy new month, amazing people of #hivelearners! I am so delighted to be participating in this edition.
I can still remember my parents warning me about my too-great intake of sugar and how dangerous sugar can be in our body system. There is this popular saying that too much of everything is bad, and too much sugar is bad. For me, sugar is not bad; we need sugar in our bodies for us to function very well.
No one can be given sugar, and the person will split it off. I am this kind of person who loves consuming sugary things. I am so addicted to sugar. I can remember when I was ten, I always hid in my room, eating my sweet and biscuit. Each time mom sees me, she keeps reminding me of the dangers of sugar to my health.
Sugar is not bad, but taking too much of it can endanger your health. Sugar should be taken in moderation to avoid health issues.
How do I fight my intake of sugar?
It is not really easy for me to fight the intake of sugar, but I am so addicted to sugar that even my siblings in the house know that I don’t eat anything that is not sweet. There is nothing in this world that will make me taste anything bitter because of this act. My family has nicknamed me Sugar Girl, and my mom keeps warning me. When my uncle was diagnosed with diabetes, I don’t need anybody to advise me to stop my too-high sugar intake. My uncle's health condition helps me fight my sugar intake. The fear of the sickness really fights my sugar intake, if I may say so.
How do I control my sugar intake?
I stopped eating processed food because it had a high level of sugar. I went back to those natural foods that I had neglected over the years.
I limit my intake of sugary
breakfasts; most of the breakfasts we consume are too sugary, such as tea, cereal, and so on. There is a high level of sugar in those sugary breakfasts, so I stop taking them regularly and only consume them. When one's in a blue moon, I eat more of a low-sugar breakfast, such as oatmeal and some fruits, custard and a mixture of fruits inside the custard, etc.
I limit my intake of carbonated drinks. This particular one was not easy for me, but I have to stop taking any drinks that have carbonate. I did a little research on the carbonated drinks I consume all the time and found out that the level of sugar used in producing them is too much.
What do I take in place of sugar?
Honey: I use honey to replace all this refined sugar that we are consuming. honey is natural, and I got it from bees. If I need sugar for my breakfast, I will make use of my honey.
Since I stopped consuming carbonated drinks, I have had to replace them with fruit juice. I extract my own fruit juice at home and drink it whenever I crave carbonated drinks.
Fruits are another thing I use to replace sugar.
If there is no sugar in the drink, will I still consume it?
I will gladly consume any drink without sugar. Seeing what my uncle is passing through because of sugar, I will stop consuming drinks with sugar.
This is my entry in this on the weekly prompts #hl-w125e3.
