Today, the most thanks giving day of the year, I am thankful for so many things. But giving thanks isn’t limited to today. I am thankful every day of my life. I am fortunate to be able to live comfortably, to do what I love for a living, to live with a man I love, to spoil a remarkably adorable dog, and to be blessed by 3 fine sons and a beautiful, smart, sassy granddaughter.
Every single day is a blessing filled with things expected and unexpected. Today, my husband and I were going to spend a very quiet day at home - just the two of us and Sherlock. Expected. My middle and youngest sons surprised me by calling to say they were coming over to join us! Unexpected! We live an hour away from most of our families but sometimes it feels as though we are half a world away. Nobody does the pop-in. Ever. Until today. Fortunately I had made a turkey and sweet potato casserole so there was plenty to eat. And I was so happy to share a meal with my boys that my heart could burst!
So today I was blessed more than usual. I am grateful for my family and thankful to be able to share a meal with them. Happy Thanksgiving!
