For this week's Chaos Knight battle challenge I go once again to my new alt account, where summoner Lorna Shine likes to make good use of the Chaos Knight.
These two make a good pair as Lorna's Divine Shield supplements the Knight's slightly lower health, and with Lorna the Shieldbearer's Taunt is less needed as the back line all have Divine Shield also to absorb one blow from the enemy Sneak, Opportunity, and Snipe. In this battle I was also able to fit in Djinn Renova who gave the Knight an extra health point.
To round out the team I have three sneak monsters and Time Mage. Djinn Renova works well in the last slot as she has plenty of health to withstand the enemy sneak monster. In a way, the Shieldbearer's Taunt works against him in this battle as it causes my team to eliminate him quickly while his team's attacks are spread across three of my team.
After the first round, you can see that Shieldbearer has lost his armour and half of his health while Chaos Knight has only lost two points of armour as her own Shield ability reduced the damage from Shieldbearer and Eagle to one point each.
After round 2 the Shieldbearer is eliminated while Chaos Knight still has 4 health. My Sneak team can now go to work on his back line!
In round 3 my opponent's Opportunity monster turns its attention to the Chaos Knight as her health drops so she has just one health point left at the end of the round. Her job is well done though. My back line is still healthy while his Eagle and Cave Slug will both fall quickly.
After the 4th round and result is clear. My Feral Spirit will fall as his Time Mage moves first, but that will be the end of his effort.
While Chaos Knight has slightly lower health than some tanks her Shield ability offsets some of that, and her lower mana cost can allow you to add a good support monster. It is also worth noting that Chaos Knight gets an extra melee damage point at level 3 which makes her a good choice to work with level 2 summoners.
