Okay! I believe I am in a well-enough state to share this.
So, yesterday was the second time I got chased by tolo-tolo(turkey). I should have written this piece yesterday but I held a Thanksgiving celebration after the occurrence.
So i was going back home after I had finished my home-lesson. Catwalking because I finished early and couldn't wait to continue a book I recently started reading. You needed to have seen me looking peng in my mini burgundy gown.
Few blocks from my house, this family rears a poultry. I must confess that I'm quite scared of animals - big and small. I'm especially petrified of the ones with a history of causing harm. So, these people let out these animals sometimes and for reasons only they know.
I've had a firsthand experience with turkey and save for my aunt, I don't know what would have happened that day. I saw hell that day sha.
So, I saw this bird walking in opposite direction from where it was coming. I just kept going. Some distance into it's walk, it halted, turned in my direction and made that it's characteristic sound. My heart almost stopped working. In my mind, "I don die." It kept coming in my direction and my heart flew immediately but, "hard girl things," I did not mind,.
I should have asked my former-friend(whose parents own the poultry) to shoo it away. But we both had a serious quarrel sometime in the week and my bad-mouth got the better of me. The way other kids laughed hard as I yabbed her ehn, I just knew it will be a long time before I get dethroned as the queen of bad-mouth.
My oh my!! I thought of calling out to her for help but pride was pressing my neck. So It was no surprise that she just sat at a corner outside her house, looking at me with a wicked grin across her face. The nonsense girl knows of my fears. Tsk!
With every step I took, it took one step closer. I started praying in my mind.
I confessed all of my sins -past, present and future- and made promises to God. Butttt........
Next thing I knew, it opened up its feathers. Sincerely, I did not run but I don't know how I got back home. All I could remember was screaming, "mummy o!," "mummy o!" "heiii!!" and running like a crazy person.
That's not the worst of it.
The most annoying part of it was that I ran past my crush and my wig fell off my head. And, I heard that nonsense girl laughing. For the next week, I did not show up outside.
No problem sha. Precious has done her own. Me? The mayor of comebacks! I'll square things up.
Await the scores y'all.
Thanks for gracing this post.
Greetings!
