It's a brand and beautiful new week and i pray that the new week will meet us with so much blessings, peace and joy.
Today being the start of the week, I have been up a bit earlier as we are preparing to go start the rice of rice in the fields today. But before then I will like to quickly check on what can be used to feed our new poults as our turkey had just hatched.
It was an exciting moment yesterday when we have opened the turkey cage to find out that she has started hatching. This turkey is about 7months old now She is the new breed we have just purchased when the local breed we had wasn't productive.
We have bought this singular turkey when she was a little poult of about a day old, Sold to us for $10. Someone might thing that it is expensive go sell a poultry for such an amount but today you can see the evidence that such thought is wrong. Poults are usually fragile and delicate, we did all we can to keep that little poult alive and today she has started yielding for us.
She has laid about 18eggs and has hatched 5 do far.
Before now we have purchase and have been raising the local turkey specie but that wasn't productive like this new breed. That one will lay about 5 eggs and hatch just one or two.
The goal or every farmer is to make profit hence we did away with those ones and bought this new breed.
The new breed has spent just about 7months now and there is this much multiplication. I don't know about how many more of the eggs she is going to hatch but we are excited for the numbers seen so far.
It has always been my dreams to create and start up a business around farming, be it food crops or animals. I have even created some business logo in the past and has hoped for some capital to expand my farming to a commercial level.
We did a pilot test of commercial farming and already have some experiences in that already.
From raising this poultry birds I am equally gaining experience about growing farm animals. At the right time when much resources are available it will be easy to expand this agriculture business in this line.
