Just got off the phone this evening from speaking with a friend. Guy was complaining of this event his friends and himself had been planning for a while. All was cool but at the event, things took a turn. He couldn't help but notice how detached they sort of where. Too many different acts and it felt a bit disorganized.
Wasn't as run as he expected.

He mentioned a lot more. Actually, it was sort of a rant so my attention was divided between listening to him, and, trying to picture these people and place correctly a few of my acquaintances who fall in one or two of these categories. I'll tell you where I belong as you read. Leggo!

Content creators/Influencers.

They're only concerned with making videos and taking snaps. It'll be a lot tolerable if they're just Facebook or Instagram baddies, that way, they'll lean more towards taking pictures, but nah, they're YouTubers. They never miss chances of creating contents for their channels especially with something as bubbly and vibe-full as a group outing that'll gain them views and bucks. So don't be surprised when they walk into the venue with tripods, cameras, ringlights, even a video/photographer. Na their way!

The worst part would be them asking during the party that you guys redo a particular activity -they didn't capture perfectly- they find interesting. Visit their channel later on and you'll see something like, "took my fellas out. Bills on me." Ontop group outing o.

Bae-Boo

Tscheww! I had to sigh first. Annoying duo who cannot keep their lips still and their hands to themselves. You'll hear them making and laughing at their dry jokes forgetting it's not a date. Every little thing, "Awwn! Are you okay? Do you need anything? ..babe this, babe that..." Nonsense and feeling like the couple of the year. Someone please play me Burns boy's 'Last last.* Tsk!

Party Un-riders

Ndi mgbu! They like to show themselves. Always want to be the centre of attention and show how party-savvy they are. At least with the ones who take one bottle of fearless and start behaving like rats, it's understandable. Could be that peer pressure made them indulge. But you see those ones that are lightweights and know they are lightweights yet go ahead to mix malt, bullet and mortuary standard(beer)? Let them be!

Selective introverts.

It probably took lots and lots of back and forth to get these ones out. They probably even almost backed out on you on the day of the event. They've arrived. Okay, dance...no. Do this..no. Do that..no. They'll be engrossed with their phones. What are they doing? Reading a book on Lighteader.

Meanwhile, there's another set of people in this group...The selective wereys. Once the spirit binding them let's loose, you'll realize that compared to them, you are a werey-in-training.

Restless kids

These ones will give you headache. No one forced them out o. Okay, maybe they live with their parents who are strict and they badly wanted to be part of the outing. They find a way around their parents/guardian, mostly by dropping lies of school practical or night class or church vigil. Barely thirty minutes into the event, they're shifty and sneaky. With eyes darting left, right, center, forward cause they're sacred of being seen by a relative. The very few minutes they manage to enjoy the party and take pictures and videos, try don't upload them online. Why? You want their father's sister-in-law's cousin's friend's brother to see it and blow things over for them?
Okay, you're not enjoying the party, you're on your toes, leave then. They won't. Well, except you're leaving with them. Hellooo! Leave with you, at 8pm. Why? Na me and you be your mama pikin? Getat Biko!

And then, there's you who only reads and watches these things online. Forget school excursion, have you attended an all friends gathering? You see!

Read till this point?
Wait o! Don't tell me you're waiting to know where I belong.
Oouuu! I don't fall in any of the above. Seems we're in the same boat sha.
