Christmas, as we've always known it to be, is a time for generosity. This holiday has become an annual tradition, and we always look forward to it. Moreover, I have always had a positive impression of Christmas. After twenty years of receiving presents from family, I am now the giver. Present-giving duties for Christmas now fall on my shoulders.
Since I have some extra cash last December 2022, I tried to save up and get my gifts and giveaways ready. At first, I bought pieces of stuff for my niece, nephew, and cousins. During the season of Christmas, kids are the one who feels happier.
My expenses while purchasing gifts were no joke, since I bought toys and clothes. But I do not intend to only give something to my relatives or the kids who are close to me. I also wanted to prepare giveaways for the other kids that I will be seeing the whole day of Christmas.
I withdrew some cash and went to the nearest grocery store. I walked around every section, and decided to buy assorted candies for the kids. I know that it a pack of chocolates and candies will make them happy.
I grabbed different kinds and even added some of my favorites when I was still younger. After putting the candies on my basket, I immediately went to the cashier to pay for my purchase. When I was already home, I organized the candies and packed them.
And during the Christmas day, kids were already greeting everyone a Merry Christmas. I asked my Mom and my nephew to help me distribute the candies. And while handing them over to the little angels, I could see the smiles on their faces as they tell their thanks. It happened until the afternoon, and I really enjoyed it since kids would also do gestures of respect to me. I even told myself that I am already embracing being an adult.
We have always believed that Christmas is about giving. I may have given just a little amount of gifts, but know that I felt really great when doing it. And I would definitely do it more in the next years of my life. I just hope that God will bless me more so I could share more, too. This is a late blog about how my Christmas went, but I guess this one’s too precious to still deserve to be shared here.
