There will be a day when the clocks run back,
When mountains crumble, collapse and fall flat.
When bloody wars begin in advancing retreat,
When the divine drop and bow to our feet.
When mankind halts and takes the time,
To stand up against some politicians crime.
When democracy finally becomes it meaning,
When society understands compassion and feeling.
These are the days we wish to find,
When tyrants and dictators are left far behind.
When the new rule comes its clear to see,
This is the dawn for men to be free.
But this utopia we dream is not our own,
For reality itself, so much cruelty is known.
Perhaps it is easier to relinquish and say,
Nature herself made us this way.
But maybe there will be those who banish this voice,
Who lead a life of justice and choice.
And just maybe in time, old men will say that,
These were the days when the clocks ran back.
