Poem about a child who is explaining to his pet dog (Ralph) that he has noticed his brother (Todd) has been behaving rather odd recently - when in fact Todd has been replaced by an alien. Poem to be accompanied by illustrations.
I don't know Ralph, there is something wrong with Tod,
I cant put my finger on it, buts he's been behaving rather odd.
A week ago today is when he started to change,
I'm telling you, I swear it, he's been acting really strange.
At first he got smaller, and by smaller I mean short.
And I can't understand a word he's saying, all he does is squark!
But the strangest thing to me, stranger than him eating ants,
He doesn't put all his clothes on, he doesn't wear any pants!
I'm surprised my parents haven't noticed, but they've got problems of their own.
I guess it's up to us then to figure this out alone.
On Monday Tod ate the table and on Tuesday he blew up a tree.
Wednesday he kidnapped Miss Merkle and fired her out to sea.
On Thursday he broke the world record for most ping pong balls in an ear,
You should have seen the crowds Ralph, you should have seen them cheer!
But Friday took the biscuit, he's just showing off now I'm sure,
He cleaned up all the dishes and even hovered up the floor!
I've really tried to speak to him, only yesterday did I get a reply,
He told me to "be afraid human, the time for invasion is nigh!"
I'm not sure what to do Ralph, I guess it's just me and you.
Now I come to think of it, you've been acting strange too!
