Power makes a person proud.
This is why people are not happy when it is time to relinquish power.
They want power to remain for as much as they want.
Without power, they feel useless.
So, they spend their time, money, influence and effort to make sure they keep their power.
But the irony is that they are being controlled by power and not the other way round.
Someone who can relinquish power at will has the influence over power, he cannot be controlled by it.
So, to relinquish power does not mean you have no power anymore but you have influence over power when you will.
