Hello! My name is Dave and I've been playing SimCity Buildit for some time and decided to start a blog about it. I'm in a great Club called "Exodus No W-A-R" and perhaps some of my Club members will like to participate.
If you've never played SimCity Buildit, it is an on-line game that you can play on an iPad or Android tablet or phone. There are a huge number of players. If you played with any of the various SimCity PC/Mac games, you'll have an idea about the graphics for Buildit look like; they are superb.
To get started, you download the game and follow the instructions. The game starts with a simple tutorial; what I'll focus on in the blog isn't how to play the game, but rather strategies that I've learned the hard way. The game is quite complicated and the vendor, EA, adds new features and competitions all the time. The game hooks to either Google's game platform or Facebook for interaction with other players and trading commodities.
I'll start with one key strategy that is counter-intuitive: Unlike most games, you want to promote s-l-o-w-l-y in Buildit! You promote by building residences and upgrading them. If you promote too fast, you end up with very difficult competition in the contests and the "Global" trading market becomes less and less useful. The key competition is called "Contest of Mayors," and I coach our Club members to upgrade a residence only when it is an assignment in the competition.
Strategy two: You can play Buildit on a PC or MAC by using BlueStacks, which is a free Android simulator.
Strategy three: Once you advance in the game, you may want a "feeder" city (i.e. second account) to support your main city in contests.
By all means, ask questions or add comments! Thanks! Dave
