My dear Steemian Friends, Hi again, here's the second part of my post of the haunted places in China.
THE 13TH TOMB OF MING DYNASTY
Emperor Wanli was the thirteenth emperor of the Ming Dynasty in China. He became an emperor at the age of ten and ruled for 48 years. Throughout his reign, he was busy with drinking and women, purportedly abandoning official duty for thirty years. The cruel emperor sentenced his officials and female servants to death unreasonably.
Emperor Wanli built his own mausoleum as young as 22 years old. Named as Dingling Tomb, it took a total of eight million pieces of silver and over 30,000 labourers to works on the more-than-six –years project.
In 1959, the coffins of Emperor Wanli and his queen were dug up and thrown outside the town. An old couple found out that the coffins were made of phoebe Zhennan wood – an expensive type of wood, and they too tried to have their designers produce two new coffins of the same materials for them. The old couple died as soon as the new coffins were completed, which everybody deemed as a curse. Another rumour is that the remains of many victims during the Ming Dynasty were buried around the tomb, and weird sounds are heard at night until today.
THE DEADLY YANGTZE RIVER BRIDGE
The Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge is splendid but it is a suicide hot spot for younger generation. To avoid untoward incidents, firm safety nets have been placed along the bridge; police are also patrolling the bridge day and night. With its great height above land, it is indeed very difficult for the authorities to save individuals who plan to jump to their death.
That's all for now, look out for more of my post soon.
Thanks..xoxo Celo.(≧∇≦)
