A few days ago I was browsing one of the apps I like the most: Pinterest, because usually when I'm bored, I like to see cute things. While exploring ideas for drawing, I came across an image that was kind of like a challenge to draw a picture every day, for the whole month.
As I took a look at the list, I realized that they read like easy and enjoyable drawings, so I thought: how about practicing my digital drawings with this challenge? Well, without thinking twice: Join me in the process of today's drawing, a butterfly. Here we go!

Coloreé a la mariposa de este color porque obviamente el rosado es un color demasiado hermoso, tenía que hacerlo. Y ese efecto que hice de poner el color cada vez más oscuro, me tenía encantada, no lo puedo explicar. Amo el color rosado y fin de la historia. Si yo pudiera ser un color, sería rosado. Sí, se imaginarían que diría que quiero ser el azul, pero ya el azul lo soy, así es mi nombre… Y el rosa combina muy lindo con el azul.
One thing I loved was the brush, which according to me was watercolor. Look, I don't know about names, but as long as it paints pretty, I'm happy. I've always wanted to paint with watercolors in real life, but haven't had the chance (yet), so I decided to try it in digital, at least.
I colored the butterfly this color because obviously pink is too beautiful of a color, I had to do it. And that effect I did of making the color darker and darker, I just loved it, I can't explain it. I love the color pink and end of story. If I could be a color, I would be pink. Yes, you would imagine that I would say I want to be blue, but I already am blue, that's my name... And pink goes very nicely with blue.

Also, they tend to have such vivid, eye-catching colors to attract a potential mate. And I just think this color I put on it would look good on a real butterfly, do pink butterflies exist? Because I have never seen one.
Otra cosa que también descubrí es que las mariposas adultas viven muy poco, pues su promedio es de 1-2 semanas. Another thing I also discovered is that adult butterflies live very short lives, as their average is 1-2 weeks. And to be honest, I felt very sad, although that's just the adult cycle of their life. But well, in the end I guess it is what it is. In the end butterflies are very cute, and they have an important role in pollination as well. Anyway, once the butterfly was finished, I was really happy.
Quería hacer un fondo que se viera envolvente, ¿saben? Con colores difuminados. Este color es el complementario de ese rosado, lo cual me parece muy genial, ya que la idea es que la mariposa se viera como si estaba en la naturaleza. Unas cuantas flores tampoco van mal, yo solo quería que el color se mirara difuminado, como si estuviera puesto a toquecitos (y es que así lo puse, dando toques con mi dedo poco a poco)
I wanted to make a background that looked enveloping, you know? With faded colors. This color is the complementary of that pink, which I think is very cool, since the idea is to make the butterfly look like it was in nature. A few flowers don't look bad either, I just wanted the color to look blurred, as if it was made by touch (and that's how I made it, touching it with my finger little by little).
Y finalmente así quedó mi dibujo. Algo simple, pero se logró.
