Today I visited my grandmother. Almost always, every time I go to her house, I go out to the patio; my house doesn't have a patio with plants, because I live in a housing development, so visiting my grandmother's house is an opportunity to breathe some green. I really like photographing nature, because even though I've been living in this world for a couple of decades, I think that even the simplest little flower is a magnificent gift from nature. Anyway, what can I tell you, I'm amazed by the world around me, sometimes I entertain myself imagining what it would be like if I could observe its majesty from thousands of years ago...

But well, digression aside.

I'm not a great photographer, I don't even consider myself one, but luckily taking photos isn't something inherent to photographers, so I enjoy it. I decided that today I would assign myself a theme and take related photos.

My theme was the sun. I like to observe the way the sun bathes everything it touches, endowing it with a grandeur that only its golden rays can. That makes me think, if you could describe the sun to a blind person, what would you tell them?

Although lately the sun is very hot, in fact, where I live they say it's "picoso", because it's the sensation of burning that scorches the skin; so don't forget to go out with sunscreen.

However, even though the sun burns so strongly, even with seconds of exposure, there's something that these photos, I think, managed to capture: many living beings seek the sun. In these photos I captured plants being kissed by the sun, but there's also another living being that doesn't belong to the plant kingdom: a morrocoy, hehe.

There he was, happily sunbathing, maybe because he knows his body needs it. And it's that even we need the sun, and from it we get vitamin D, the world is so magical when you think about it like that...

But, on the other hand, I was fascinated, once again, with the very interesting creations of nature, I mean, just look at the shell of this cute animal, with those striking geometric patterns, whose beauty is accentuated as soon as they come into contact with a beam of light.

I like the way the sun passes through the plants, because the light gets tinted and stops being golden, and then gives a vivid tone to whatever color crosses its path. And all this makes me think that, in fact, the wonder of colors that we can experience in our day to day is due to the fact that light exists.

Anyway, I've really enjoyed the experience of rambling a bit on my keyboard, while sharing with you these photos that I think are very pretty. I feel that this experience has encouraged me to keep photographing the world around me. On the other hand, don't forget to get some sun from time to time, but never in the middle of the afternoon, or you'll get scorched, hehe, although that depends on where you live... is the sun as strong where you live as in Venezuela?

Hoy visité a mi abuela. Casi siempre, cada vez que voy a su casa, salgo al patio; mi casa no tiene un patio con plantas, porque vivo en una urbanización, así que visitar la casa de mi abuela es una oportunidad para poder respirar algo de verde. Me gusta mucho fotografiar la naturaleza, pues a pesar de que ya llevo un par de décadas habitando este mundo, pienso que hasta la florecilla más sencilla es un regalo magnífico de la naturaleza. En fin, qué te puedo decir, estoy maravillada por el mundo que me rodea, a veces me entretengo imaginando cómo sería si pudiera observar su majestuosidad de hace miles de años...

Pero bueno, divagación aparte.

No soy una gran fotógrafa, ni siquiera me considero una, pero por suerte el tomar fotos no es algo inherente de los fotógrafos, así que lo disfruto. Decidí que el día de hoy me asignaría un tema a mí misma y tomaría fotos relacionadas.

Mi tema fue el sol. Me gusta observar la manera en la que el sol baña todo lo que toca, dotándolo de una grandeza que solo sus rayos dorados pueden. Eso me hace pensar, si pudieran describirle el sol a alguien no vidente, ¿qué le dirían?

Aunque últimamente el sol está muy caliente, de hecho, donde vivo dicen que "está picoso", porque es la sensación del ardor que quema la piel; así que no olviden salir con protector solar.

Sin embargo, aunque el sol queme tan fuertemente, incluso con segundos de exposición, hay algo que estas fotos, considero, lograron captar: muchos de los seres vivos buscan el sol. En estas fotos capturé plantas siendo besadas por el sol, pero también hay otro ser vivo que no pertenece al reino plantae: un morrocoy, jiji.

Ahí estaba él, felizmente tomando el sol, quizá porque sabe que su cuerpo lo necesita. Y es que, incluso nosotros necesitamos el sol, y de ahí obtenemos la vitamina D, el mundo es tan mágico cuando lo piensas así...

Pero, por otro lado, yo quedaba fascinada, una vez más, con las creaciones interesantísimas de la naturaleza, digo, tan solo miren el caparazón de este lindo animal, con aquellos patrones geométricos tan llamativos, cuya belleza se acentúa tan pronto entran en contacto con un haz de luz.

Me gusta la manera en la que el sol traspasa las plantas, pues la luz se tintura para dejar de ser dorada, y entonces le da un tono vivo a cualquiera que sea el color que se atraviese en su paso. Y todo esto me hace pensar que, de hecho, la maravilla de colores que podemos experimentar, en nuestro día a día, se debe a que la luz existe.

En fin, he disfrutado mucho la experiencia de divagar un poco sobre mi teclado, a la vez que compartía con ustedes estas fotos que para mí están muy bonitas. Siento que esta experiencia me ha animado a seguir fotografiando el mundo a mi alrededor. Por otra parte, ustedes no olviden tomar sol de vez en cuando, pero nunca a media tarde, o se achicharrarán, jiji, aunque eso depende de dónde vivan ustedes... ¿en el lugar que viven también es tan fuerte el sol como en Venezuela?
