Some days, I feel left out. Maybe I am not doing enough. But this leaves me with a question: Must I have everything figured out by now? Certainly not, I guess.
Growing up, life doesn't prepare us for the responsibilities ahead. Those fantasies we had as little children turn into reality when responsibilities begin to set in. Accountability becomes a must for maintaining a good reputation and standard. Yeah, I am still becoming her, but my younger mind never imagined I would have to go through so much stress to actualise these dreams.
To my mum, I am always her baby, but I know I am no longer the little baby I used to be. I am now a big baby who helps her in her own way. Sometimes, though, those little acts of help don't feel like enough to me. I want to do more. Provide more for her.
She doesn't seem to care much about it, anyway, but I encourage myself that I don't have to have everything figured out yet. The most important thing is that I have added some value to life, and I am still going to add more.
Where I am today was once a prayer I said some years ago. In all things, gratitude and consistency.
