A busy day lining up. Start with coffee with a friend not long ago out of rehab for two knee replacement surgery. Pack then for a long weekend on the South Coast. Had a 2nd night of weird dreams working for Perot Systems this time in Switzerland - I worked alongside them there in the 90s

Made good time. Enough daylight to go for a short ride to Seven Mile Beach NP - orchids beckoning. Ptersorylis curta in a known spot - colony is growing - known spot

When I first saw this acianthus orchid spot on a fallen tree - last season two leaves - now a whole more
Bud or new leaf forming - probably pterostylis nutans
Acianthus fornicatus in low light. Focus is not great but there are things to see - pollonia and a few pollinators

First of the corybas fimbriatus flowering. Something has nibbled away to expose part of the column

Kept walking till I found pterostylis concinna flowering. Was hoping there were still a few around - forked labellum is the key to ID

Did find a few painted fingers orchids on the way back - all on the tracksides facing west. A tough photo challenge in low light as the white grabs the light and softens focus

Light was pretty low for the ride home and front light has run out of charge. Switched it on for the few seconds it would show when a car came toward me. First ride for the month - same as the only one done in May.
Had friends over for drinks - the start of birthday month. Cooked pizza for dinner after our guests had gone home. It is often the Friday goto dinner.
