Dropped my wife off at the station. Spent a bit of time catching on investing stuff - new blog published and some IM stuff done. Enough time to catch a train - wanted to do a ferry walk
Got out of the train at St Leonards to walk down to Neutral Bay Wharf. Not walked this before - a view into the walk looking back to the tall towers
Lots of old cottages - all have high walls these days
Old walls testament
This - now Brazilian bbq - is a good sample. The old warehouse walls stand and the front face covered over with steel plate
Semi-detached houses tidied up with render
Old style bus stops - this one on Ernest Street, North Sydney
New and old with some mods on the old
The old and a crane behind tearing down the old
Some detached cottages and a postie still doing the walk the post thing
A bit of Victorian railings work but it may be older than the building. Does fit in with the streetscape
Could not resist this reflection shot
An often visited spot a few years back - my boys went to school two blocks down
Neutral Bay primary school goes back a few years
Doubt they put any sculpture form into new school buildings these days
Road drops down to the harbour - a few shots of the bridge
A bit of new and old dropping down to the water
A native violet for my granddaughter Violette - also found in the city
Two styles - old sandstone footing houses and a red brick apartment behind which is not as old
Found a quiet lane way - had steps to start but quite bike friendly
Another view of the bridge
A few shots from the ferry wharf - yellow and green ferry is on its way
Shot of the bridge over HMAS Platypus
Unfolding harbour views
With a friend in the Navy - navy shots - our friend is not here - serving abroad
Sydney Opera house shot
Shot back to the navy base - old Victorian buildings on show
Was a big walk. Got tram and train home for lunch at home
Did cook dinner - macaroni cheese
Make a bechemel - melt butter, sprinkle two tablespoons of flower - then add in some sliced garlic and spring onion. Then add milk and then a mix of old cheese - grate if needed - brie, blue cheese, laval, cheddar, parmesan - whatever you have
Cook the pasta to just ready. Lay in a greased onion proof dish - layer pasta and bechemel a fee times. Make enough bechemel is the art.
Top with the last of the bechemel, sliced tomatoes, shredded parmesan and some smoky paprika
Bake in 180C oven for 30 minutes
Did get the investing post out
