Rainy hibiscus autumn colour walk plus Thai fish cakes : May 23 2026
Another grey rainy day. Best spent doing indoor stuff. Nope - not moving cupboards. That can wait till Monday. Was catching up on recovering from bad IT things the last two days. First was a new AI tool that did not work out the box. That set me back several hours on Friday getting it to work. Then the tool that I use to write peresell reports and reviews fell over. A big lesson in that story. If you are in the middle of a product launch do not update any of the software you use - wait until after the launch. And it kept raining
Did go for an umbrella walk - walked two stations down to visit a markets shop to get bread. So grey that the apartment block across the valley is not visible
Maybe a hibiscus raindrops theme for the day - in pink and not snapped before
3 apartments on one block sold since the last walk down here last week. Great location close to Killara Station but away from the Pacific Highway.

Shopping done for dinner tomorrow. How about dinner tonight. Mynwife had the idea of making Thai fish cakes from the left over fish from yesterday
Stripped all the remaining flesh and mixed in coriander, Thai red curry paste, spring onion, chopped zucchini, fish sauce, one egg. Blitz in a food processor to make a paste.
It's a bit gooey. Fold in some rice four to get it to a workable consistency. Grab a small handful - pattie size - pop in some hot oil
Turn over after 4 or 5 minutes. They will flip over easily if they are browned enough underside
Browned like this. Served with sweet chilli sauce or a Thai dipping sauce. One of a few plates for our dinner - sushi made yesterday, sashimi, steamed prawn hargow and gyozas. Yum
