A bit of an at home day - doing investing accounts. Went out to walk - maybe catch a train and walk. Decided to walk the local Ruchmond Park - a good loop into the remnant turpentine forest

alt

Pelargonium flowers on the way - not often see them white

alt

Normal blue colour

alt

Strelitzia flower always gets my eye. Was the flower on my army unit emblem

alt

Fire wheel tree from the top on the bridge crossing. Tree has to be between 20 and 30 metres tall.

alt

The grand house below - sandstone blocks from years back - maybe carved out from this very cutting

alt

Kookaburra against the backdrop of the scout hall

alt

A few tiny flowers - lobelia

alt

A touch of blue - not a weed but always found near the houses

alt

Remnant forest walkway

alt

This house always has the classic English cottage garden look

alt

Signs of autumn coming - tips of the acer turning red

alt

Not expecting these camellia flowers open - maybe early

alt

Walked a different loop up to the highway underpass - one empty house - long grass and curtains down

alt

And a modernised one up for sale a little further along. Close to the railway line but below it - may not be too noisy

alt

Bougainvillea close up. My mother loved them

Got the steps in

Friend popped in for a chat. Turned into a few glasses of wine and a dinner. Always happy to cook for a friend - was a simple steak and boerewors bbq. What is that? A very traditional South African sausage with a touch of coriander in the spices
