Christmas Day broke a little cooler than it has been. The plan for the day is early lunch with my wife's son. Ollie will be there for the morning. My wife was up early finishing her lunch prep - finish the ham and the potato salad. Then she headed off to pick up her brother Paul - close to a two hour round trip. She came back home so he could see our place and load up. That is hard work as he does not walk well.
Byron had been hard at working cooking up a protein rich lunch to add to the ham - fabulous prawns and beef picanha and whole snapper. The wine I supplied from the year I arrived in Australia - still fab at 25 years old. It is the best cabernet in the country
Ollie loved the train set - all he needed to do was set up two bridges and a level crossing. Run the trains down the ramps and up. In time he will make a circular track
Byron's friend arrived late with Popcorn the the cavoodle - nice dog and a friendly chat. We headed back out west to drop Paul off by 3:30. I went with to keep my wife company
Had a friend come by for a drink - I made dinner on the BBQ - was a good way to round out the day. Always a tough day in separated families
Did get a message from my son - his daughter was questioning where the carrots were that had been left for Santa's reindeer. My other children did send messages once I had prompted them
