Slow start on a blue sky day. Pushed to write up overnight investing to be on a walking track in the National Park soon after midday. Hoping to find new greenhood openers - have two in mind

alt

Fringed helmet orchid to start

alt

Nice cluster below the track growing on top of an old shell midden - corybas fimbriatus

alt

Several open flowers in frame

alt

One photo showing the oysters shells from the midden. The people who laid down those shells have not lived here maybe 100 or 150 years or more

alt

The midden site just above the water of Cowan Creek South Branch

alt

Mushroom in miniature

alt

Waxflower - hard to get focus right

alt

Hiding in the undergrowth on the other bank is a grey heron

alt

New rock orchid location right next to the track

alt

And high up above the track

alt

Wattle flower in great light

alt

A few epacris longiflora still going

alt

Even a few of these yellow flowers - hibbertia

alt

Walked further than I normally do to the creek that comes down from Sphinx Memorial. Not a good area for orchids as it is all casuarina bush

alt

Surprised to find a flannel flower still going

alt

More mini mushrooms

alt

Back to orchids - cobra greenhood - not wanting to show labellum

alt

Pterostylis grandifloris

alt

Pixie caps orchid - acianthus fornicatus - #3 flowering for the day

alt

Nodding greenhood - pterostylis nutans with raindrop or condensation drop. Not rained a few days.

alt

Zoom in shows serrations on the labellum

alt

Spurred helmet orchid - corybas aconitiflorus #5 for the day

alt

Looks like a flower but is actually new leaf growth on a grevillea

alt

More acianthus fornicatus - pixie caps orchid in low light

alt

Did find a few more cobra greenhoods - this one was happy to show its labellum

alt

A few more corybas aconitiflorus on the way back

alt

Spurs showing up well - spurred helmet orchid

alt

Sometimes a photographer just gets lucky. This butterfly was happy to pose and did not fly off

alt

Side on shows the outer wing colours

Was a fab walk - still with no breeze

Did have to walk the dog when I got back. We are looking after a friend's dog. Walking seems to fall to me.

Did a little garden tidy up. Not my fun game

Dinner: Cooked rice to go with roast duck laksa I cooked a few days back. Easy

Trade action: Bought ASEA, BAC, BBD, DML.TO, MS, SGML, AWK, ELV. Markets were happy to rise into last dsy of the quarter. Going with them
