Hello my dear friends, first of all let me share with you my most sincere wishes for this year, may it be a year filled with many material and spiritual blessings but above all with lots of health. Today I want to share with you the recipe of a delicious salad that acts as a garnish in our typical Christmas dish (in Venezuela) I wanted to share it with you in the middle of the Christmas season but due to lack of time I could never do it, however better late than never 馃槈 below I leave you the list with the ingredients that I used for the preparation of this recipe, and before I would like to make a clarification, the original recipe includes peas, but I did not add them because it was impossible to find them (in December this is one of the ingredients that most people take in supermarkets) and there are people who like to add apples, but not me, I'll leave that to your taste.
Hola mis queridos amigos, ante todo d茅jenme compartir con ustedes mis m谩s sinceros deseos para este a帽o, que sea un a帽o lleno de muchas bendiciones materiales y espirituales pero sobre todo de mucha salud. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la receta de una deliciosa ensalada que act煤a como guarnici贸n en nuestro platillo t铆pico navide帽o (en Venezuela) Yo quer铆a compartirla con ustedes en plena 茅poca navide帽a pero por falta de tiempo nunca pude hacerlo, sin embargo m谩s vale tarde que nunca 馃槈 a continuaci贸n les dejo la lista con los ingredientes que yo us茅 para la preparaci贸n de esta receta, y antes me gustar铆a hacer una aclaraci贸n, la receta original incluye guisantes, pero yo no se los a帽ad铆 porque me fue imposible encontrarlos (en diciembre este es uno de los ingredientes que m谩s se lleva la gente en los supermercados) y hay personas a las que les gusta a帽adir manzanas, pero no a mi, eso lo dejar茅 a su gusto.
First you must peel and cut the potatoes and carrots, cut them in squares not too big or too small, this way you will speed up the cooking process and on the other hand you will avoid spoiling the potatoes too much, because they are very fragile, so if they are cooked first before cutting them, they can fall apart and become a puree.
En primer lugar debes pelar y cortar las papas y las zanahorias, c贸rtalas en cuadros no muy grandes ni muy peque帽os, de esta manera acelerar谩s el proceso de cocci贸n y por otra parte evitar谩s estropear demasiado las papas, porque estas son muy fr谩giles, as铆 que si se cuecen primero antes de cortarlas, se pueden desbaratar y volverse un pur茅.
On the other hand, you must season and marinate the chicken for at least one hour so that it gets all the flavor of the seasonings, then you must boil and shred it.
Por otra parte debes sazonar y macerar el pollo durante al menos una hora para que agarre todo el sabor de los condimentos, posteriormente debes hervir y deshebrar.
Reserve all the above ingredients and now prepare the dressing. For this I decided to add in a bowl three tablespoons of mayonnaise, a pinch of salt, some finely chopped chives, crushed garlic and a tablespoon of mustard.
Reserva todos los ingredientes anteriores y ahora prepara el aderezo. Para esto yo decid铆 a帽adir en un bowl tres cucharadas grandes de mayonesa, una pizca de sal, un poco de ceboll铆n picado finamente, ajo machacado y una cucharada de mostaza.
Then stir with a spoon to integrate all the ingredients very well.
Luego revuelve con una cuchara para integrar muy bien todos los ingredientes.
Now in a large pot, or in a large enough container, put the boiled and cut carrots together with the potatoes and the chicken.
Ahora en una olla grande, o en alg煤n recipiente lo suficientemente grande, debes poner las zanahorias hervidas y cortadas junto con las papas y el pollo.
Finally add the dressing and stir very carefully to integrate the ingredients very well.
Por 煤ltimo a帽ade el aderezo y revuelve con mucho cuidado para integrar muy bien los ingredientes.
This is the result, delicious, I took it to share at my sister's house, we usually accompany this salad with ham bread and hallacas, it is a delicious dish.
Este es el resultado, delicioso, yo llev茅 para compartir en la casa de mi hermana, usualmente acompa帽amos esta ensalada con pan de jam贸n y hallacas, es un plato delicioso.
