Cuando tenía 19 años entré a trabajar en una empresa de refrigeración muy buena. Sin ser profesional fui ascendiendo de puesto de ser una Recepcionista a la Jefa de Cobranzas de la empresa y tenía un salario bueno, compré una casa, me mantenía y a pesar de no tener una profesión aprendí a trabajar y como soy una persona con carisma le caí bien a casi todos mis compañeros de trabajo. Pero al cumplir 15 años de trabajo, de la noche a la mañana esta se presentó en quiebra por los malos manejos de los dueños y lo peor fue que no nos cancelaron nuestra liquidación por el tiempo de trabajo a todos los empleados.

When I was 19 years old I started working in a very good refrigeration company. Without being a professional I was promoted from being a Receptionist to the Head of Collections of the company and I had a good salary, I bought a house, I supported myself and despite not having a profession I learned to work and as I am a person with charisma almost all my coworkers liked me. But after 15 years of work, overnight the company went bankrupt due to the mismanagement of the owners and the worst thing was that they did not cancel our severance pay for the time we had worked for all the employees.

Yo, con el cargo que tenia ganaba un buen salario y aunque no era rica, me alcanzaba y tenía muchas posibilidades económicas, todo iba muy bien, pero repentinamente, me encontré sin trabajo y sin profesión. Me fue muy difícil conseguir empleo, viví momentos muy difíciles y , en resumen, la pasé muy mal. Lo que pude ahorrar, que no era mucho pues soy madre soltera y todos los gastos los cubría yo, los reservé para la manutención de mi hija, que era muy pequeña y me daba miedo quedarnos sin dinero.
Tuve que trabajar en mi casa, hacía helados, postres, me fui a la capital para comprar ropa y con la venta de esta me ayudaba con los gastos de la casa.

It was very difficult for me to find a job, I lived through very difficult times and, in short, I had a very bad time. What I was able to save, which was not much because I am a single mother and I covered all my expenses, I set aside for the support of my daughter, who was very young and I was afraid of running out of money.
I had to work at home, I made ice cream, desserts, I went to the capital to buy clothes and with the sale of these I helped me with the expenses of the house.

Después de un tiempo, mi anterior jefe con mucho esfuerzo aperturó su empresa y me ofreció trabajar con él, aunque con un sueldo menor y en el departamento de servicio técnico. Acepté, porque no le tengo miedo a ningún trabajo, al contrario, me gusta aprender. Empecé a trabajar encargándome del papeleo de los clientes pendiente por garantía y todo lo demás, pero como siempre era muy curiosa, empecé a interesarme en los trabajos y las reparaciones que hacían los técnicos y poco a poco fui comprando herramientas. En ese momento no lo sabía, pero este conocimiento me sería útil en el futuro para hacer trabajos por mi cuenta.

After a while, my former boss, with a lot of effort, opened his company and offered me to work with him, although with a lower salary and in the technical service department. I accepted, because I am not afraid of any job, on the contrary, I like to learn. I started working taking care of customers' paperwork pending for warranty and everything else, but as I was always very curious, I started to be interested in the work and repairs that technicians did and little by little I started buying tools. I didn't know it at the time, but this knowledge would be useful to me in the future to do work on my own.

La primera oportunidad que tuve para hacer una reparación por mi misma fue una vez que se dañó mi aire acondicionado. Recuerdo que para arreglarlo comprobé el estado del capacitor, como estaba dañado lo cambié y también le eché gas, al final todo quedó perfecto. Desde esa vez cuando algún vecino tenía un problema con sus equipos de refrigeración o aires acondicionados trato de ayudarlos, con una persona que me ayude con los equipos pesados. Así que poco a poco me he convertido en toda una técnica.

The first opportunity I had to make a repair by myself was once my air conditioner was damaged. I remember that to fix it I checked the condition of the capacitor, as it was damaged I changed it and I also threw gas, in the end everything was perfect. Since that time when a neighbor had a problem with their refrigeration equipment or air conditioners I try to help them, with a person to help me with heavy equipment. So little by little I have become quite a technique.

Le doy gracias a Dios por darme el interés de aprender esta útil habilidad, porque en los tiempos que estamos viviendo sirve para trabajar por cuenta propia. Por motivos de la pandemia que nos afectó a todos en el mundo me quedé de nuevo sin trabajo, la empresa no pudo continuar laborando pues mi jefe se contagió de Covid19 y murió. Luego sus hijos no pudieron continuar con la Empresa porque la afectó la mala economía del país y nos liquidaron a todos. Gracias a mis conocimientos en las reparación técnica de refrigeración y aires acondicionados he salido adelante, tengo trabajo y me ha ido bastante bien, a pesar de las difíciles situaciones que me ha tocado vivir.

I thank God for giving me the interest to learn this useful skill, because in the times we are living in, it is useful for self-employment. Due to the pandemic that affected all of us in the world I was left without work again, the company could not continue working because my boss was infected with Covid19 and died. Then his children could not continue with the company because it was affected by the bad economy of the country and we were all liquidated. Thanks to my knowledge in the technical repair of refrigeration and air conditioners I have moved forward, I have work and I've done pretty well, despite the difficult situations that I have had to live.

Hoy en día le aconsejo a cualquier persona que se encuentre en una situación similar que nunca se desanime y traté de sacar provecho de cada cosa ha visto y aprendido. Sí se puede continuar y que mucha veces te puede ir mejor, que cuando crees que todo se te viene encima siempre se aprende algo y se sigue adelante.

Today I advise anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation to never get discouraged and try to take advantage of everything they have seen and learned. Yes, you can go on and that many times you can do better, that when you think that everything is coming down on you, you always learn something and keep going.
