Greetings dear Amazing Drinks community 🤗
Let's make a drink I love to have in the early hours of the day or at night before bed. Oatmeal porridge is always a comforting drink, especially when combined with fruit. I've tried it with banana or apple before, but today we're going to combine oats with guava. 👌
I love this fruit. It had been a long time since I'd had it, but when I was little, I used to drink a lot of the juice my mother made. We also had a guava tree that sadly died because someone from outside our household started picking the guavas without permission. From that moment on, the tree didn't produce any more fruit.
But anyway, let's talk about our drink. My husband brought me some guavas, and the smell in the kitchen was delicious. I love the smell of this fruit, and I felt like making it with oats. There are many recipes online, but in the end, I decided to make this atol my own way, and honestly, it turned out really tasty. The flavor, the consistency—I loved everything about it. That's why I've come to share the recipe with all of you, my dear friends. 😊

-1/2 cup rolled oats
-2 guavas (approximately 345 grams)
-500 ml almond milk (you can use your preferred milk)
-750 ml filtered water
-1 or 2 cinnamon sticks
-70 grams panela (unrefined cane sugar) (use your preferred sweetener)
-1 pinch of salt
-1/2 taza de avena en hojuelas.
-2 guayabas (345 gramos aproximados)
As you can see in the photo, I love the smell of guava, so after washing it thoroughly, I smell it, and then I start chopping it. We dice it; the pieces don't have to be very small.
Now in a pot we put the oats along with the cinnamon stick, we add the chopped guava, the panela, the salt, and the water.
We cook over medium-high heat until the guava is very soft, turn off the heat and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, remove the cinnamon stick and pour your still warm mixture into the blender, adding the milk as well.
We blend everything very well and then strain it.
Our atole is ready, if you wish you can put it back on the fire to drink it hotter.
We serve it in a large cup! Enjoy! 👌😍
Yields: approximately 1.5 liters.
