Short Story Of An Excursion

It was a beautiful Sunny day / Sunday few days ago when we went for a Forest Festival organized in small village called Brest in Istria, Croatia. There are 2 or 3 Brest villages in Istria. This one is called Brest pod Žbevnicom. Žbevnica is a hill peak above the village. We came there in different ways but gathered together. After checking around the fest, stands & program, I decided to go for a walk in the forest by the creek exploring the are in search for mushrooms. I'm rarely in this are so I used the chance to explore around. Suddenly behind me Jordan appeared following me so we went together moving deeper in the forest. After a while we met with the girls & a dog.

Jordan is an English guy who recently came to live in Istria, Croatia. Probably he has fallen in love with the country & the people & decided to stay. That happens to many foreigners who ever come to Istria.

I was already posting Maria's portraits twice here on Hive blog. I realized she's really photogenic & I hope in the future I'll more chance with here posing me. I have some excellent ideas in my mind but never have found a suitable model who would do it or some extra funds to pay a model.

The girl on the following photo is called Kenya & she is still an unspoiled pearl of mankind & I hope she will stay like that. I was posting some portraits of her recently here too. When I'm staying in company with such young people, I feel much younger too & they give me some new perspective of these modern time, like a comfort, a hope that not everything is lost still.

The connection between a human & a dog. I know exactly how it feels. I had a small dog like that & been taking him everywhere with me. When he passed away, I passed further & never get a dog again.

The last few photos truly depict the ambiance of the place. We got there accidentally - coincidence does not exist, only destiny! We were walking slowly towards the peak & talking but not with a goal to reach the peak. Just walking. When we arrived to the mountain house & noticed tables & benches & astonishing view beyond them we decided to sit here & wait for the Sunset.

This shot has so much gray tones & it is kind of chaotic but also peaceful in the same time. It has a lot of contrast between shadows & highlights. It is also enhanced & decorated with two gorgeous women.

We spent here some very peaceful, quality times, doing nothing except speaking, sitting, resting, enjoying the moment, doing some photos but also Maria went in the mountain house to get some domestic brandy - rakija - to warm us up & that time I had 2 shots after such a long period & it felt so good. Now I'm not drinking again!

Feet & dog on the table - against every traditional table rules!

I did make few shots of the view we had but after I tried to edit them, I really wasn't satisfied by their quality so I erased them. I'm sorry for that but I can make a short description:
As Istria is a half island with many, many hills which go up & down, up & down constantly, we could see many layers of those hills in the distance, from the most near one to the very distant one & also the sea at last with Sun setting far in the West & making a blinding reflection in the sea. That would be an incredible photo but I didn't have some special filter to make it happen so unfortunately I was unable to capture a good quality shot. But try to imagine!
