Perhaps one of the most popular analogies used by people is the one that relates life with a journey, a road, a path full of multiple scenarios in which each of us assumes its role as the main protagonist. There are so many stories, movies and even verses that can be inspired by this, but nothing compares to your own version of it to understand what this fascinating literary resource allows us to understand in relation to our existence.

How did I come to the determination to write about this? Precisely because it is a journey that has led me to think about the subject. And it all started when I left home, when I saw how the sunlight was just beginning to spread its arms across the sky, and with the first light of morning I was on my way to my destination. And that's how I suddenly find myself in those days when you feel nostalgic, in those moments when you think that when you close your eyes your life could change as a car does when passing from one lane to the other.

Then I find myself lulled into meditation and for a moment I forget what is outside and try to look inside myself, thinking that I will probably find what I don't know how to look for. Entertained in my delirium I disconnect myself from everything around me, but when I return I realize that what was once an impetuous dawn has now transformed into a cloudy and dense morning that along with a relentless rain lashes everything in its path.

Obviously the natural reaction is to look for shelter as soon as possible, something that will allow me to withstand such a storm, but to my astonishment I discover that the most ideal shelter is inside me, and although now even the wind itself blows with full intensity, it does not seem to cause me even the slightest concern, while many begin to whisper and lament for having decided to travel in the face of such weather that is getting worse and worse.

Isn't life like that at times, or does everything always turn out just as your mind has drawn it and traced it in your thoughts? And just as you know when it started to rain but not when it will end, so it usually happens with those clouds that are located above you and you don't know how far you will have to observe them. With all this, the journey continues and you can only continue observing what the rain does when it falls with a certain authority.

My trip consisted of two destinations, and upon arriving at the first one I noticed that in the face of such a downpour I was still able to do my first task, and this left me with the idea that there is no extremely difficult situation that conditions your willingness to continue, even if you have to get wet for a few moments. In fact I did, and the feeling was that I could have lost a lot if I had not dared to continue despite the adversity.

Already ready to leave for my second port, the scenario remains the same and because of this there is an accident on the road that seems to have been the result of a recklessness. Unjustly there are others affected, and that just brought to my mind those traces of my life in which I was sitting on both sides, being victim and reckless and unable to escape the unjust dominance of human prejudice. After a few minutes of mourning the delay, it's time to pick up the pace again and accelerate in such a way as if you can catch up with the time that has already been lost.

Music adds color to life, and when traveling it seems inevitable not to want to enjoy a good song. In my case, I was struck by a phrase that says "Instead of living in fear, I prefer to die smiling". What an interesting phrase to shake a little those fears that sometimes we ourselves are in charge of attaching to our intention to then only find excuses and lost opportunities that we can never recover.

Already when I approached my second destination I felt somewhat disgruntled because it was a place that used to generate many emotions, but now I do not perceive the same feeling until I realize that in life it is never about missing a place but longing for the time that then meant that stage in your life. Just as it is impossible to look back as you move forward, so it happens to me when I stubbornly glance at my past.

By this time of the day the rain had finally stopped and between the mountains a splendid landscape was drawn as part of the road. It only took a break in my spot to feel better and to be able to continue. I would never have thought of doing this in the middle of the storm and now that I meditate on that I think of this tendency that I should leave, in which when the difficulties arrive I feel like not continuing when that option is valid only if you do it to admire what you find during the trip.

After almost a whole day of travel, it was time to return home, and already with a little stress and tiredness I fixed my attention on the route of my trip, thinking that although I was returning the same way, it was impossible to do or pick up what I did not do when I was passing by a few hours ago. Is life also like that? Sometimes we want so much to go back to the past to change certain things, to do and undo what is already there and we end up forgetting that the true reality is not to stop moving forward, and that the only way to cope with the past is through what you do with what you have at hand, that is, your present.

"Life is like a journey. It is only up to us to decide what kind of travelers we want to be before our destiny, and to be clear that although my story and your story will never be the same, what exists as a great principle and foundation for living is that we never stop moving forward.
