I started a challenge of taking 100 days off to mainly focus on my health and overall personal development and used this account as a personal blog. I enjoyed it to the extend where I turned it into a year long challenge were I try to find a good balance between health, work and my personal life...
The first week of september I joined the planking challenge here on Steemit organised by @plankstoplanks as a way to make it into a core workout month. Were I did each new plank variation on a daily basis last week, I saved them all up to do them in a single day on Sunday. (See all variations).
This week it was bosu week. I did not even know what that was, but I once bought myself a balance board as it seemed like a fun toy. I had not used it in a long time so it was nice to see it finally get some purpose. While not all variations were possible with the balance board, I did find ways to do all of them (except the plank jacks since I used a chair that was a bit too high and unstable to do those). What I mostly aim to get out of these is some variations that I actually enjoy to add to my routine. Where I only used to do normal low planks, I also leaned side planks, shoulder tap planks and this week some variations I can do using my balance board that also seem to work out my legs. (mountain climber, grashopper, step-out plank that are all options to add into my routine).
While the intention was to break down my muscles a bit and feel them the day after, I did not really push myself enough to get to that point. The plan this week is to do the variations I learned and like during the week along with some knee-ups on my power station and make sunday again into the day I try out all new variations.
Everyone is free to joing this planking challenge, just head over to the blog of @plantstoplanks to get all the info an variatons !
