HPUD OCTOBER

Ive had an interesting Journey over the last 7 years here on Hive. Ups and downs and all around. I struggled with the cross over to Hive. I had been very attached to my Steem journey and while I recognize why the hard fork was needed it still left a bad taste in my mouth. With time i clearly see it was a really forking good move, and it made Hive into what so many Cryptos strive or pretend to be…. Actually Decentralized.
Whenever i go to Hivefest, i find my self invigorated with new hope for Hive. I see all the work and energy that people put into it. I discover new tools and hear about exciting projects. I meet cool people who believe in Hive and can explain why in elucidating ways. Mostly it just fun to be around all that buzzing. I’m a sucker for fun and spirit.

I made a fairly large HPUD this month, because i want to support this ecosystem. For all its flaws, it’s worth it to me to give to a social media i want to see in this world. Honestly i dont get why more people dont get it. The idea of having control over and owning your own content seems so obvious. That no one can take away my account because i broke some rule is clearly best to my eyes.
I’m willing to take that risk and invest in this blockchain. I know there is dodgy shit that happens here, but that is a mirror into the world in general. Scammers gonna scam, milkers gonna milk, trolls gonna troll. Cause right next to all that, writers gonna write, techies gonna tech, artists gonna art, etc.etc.
Big ol’ ball of it all, and it just where you put your focus too. I choose the good feeling and the hope for Hive these days, and I’ll keep doing that until i dont. 🤗

I was really touched by the talk that @arcange gave at hivefest. His vulnerable words hit home. And so i found myself reading through some of his various offerings and supportive mechanisms that he created. I had never heard of the Power up Helper or the Power Up Month.
I felt inspired.
So…
I decided to be a Power Up Helper
Last month my kids surprised me, by on boarding their cousin. I helped him get an account set up. And now im helping him Join his first HPUD day.

I think i may try for the Power up Month too. We see how it goes. lol, im also a Butt and can be forgetful. We will see wont we.
