About our guest, Ecoinstant 🌟

Alright friends…ecoinstant@ecoinstant joins us this week. He has been on chain since June 2017. He is a builder, and more than that, he is someone who writes down how he built it.

There's the back catalogue. Markdown tutorials on Steem in 2017. dCity ambassador and its most active player. Diesel Pools guides people still link to years later. The INCOME Synergy Fund, which paid out in anti-whale fashion so small holders got the better return. A faucet that powered up HP for new users who could not generate enough RCs to get started. Then Splinterlands staff, and the synergy.witness@synergy.witness node.

There's the farm. Líbano, Tolima, in Colombia, where he has lived for many years. Mountain spring water, an old house, and the rest was up to them. That is also where restore.world comes from, watershed and reforestation work posted in Spanish from the same hills.

And there's what he is doing right now. He applied to the AI coding dev fund, the money came through, and he is writing a public tutorial series on building with these tools. His reason for applying is the interesting part. A previous deathwing round produced no follow up posts that he noticed, and he thought that was a waste of a good experiment. So now he is showing his work, in public, on purpose.

Welcome to Hive Thrive Community Hour, Episode 74

Hive Thrive Community Hour is our weekly town hall for builders, critics, curators, and anyone still stubborn enough to care about where this chain is heading. No scripts. No talking points handed out in advance. Just open conversation.

🎙️ What we'll talk about:

• Nine years on Hive, from writing markdown tutorials to writing Claude Code tutorials. What actually changed

• Taking DHF money and feeling morally obligated to show your work in public

• Fifteen wrong guesses from an AI, and not one of them was the real answer. What these tools are actually good for

• Designing a rewards pool that does not get gamed, after nine years of watching reward pools get gamed

• dCity, Splinterlands, Diesel Pools, a faucet, a witness. What nine years of saying yes adds up to

There may be hard truths.

There may be laughs.

There may be mild discomfort.

Come hang out with us

Hive Thrive isn't meant to be just another background podcast.

We treat it like a live town hall for the blockchain —

• a place where devs, witnesses, curators, creators, and critics can speak in the same room

• a space to explore the tools, tensions, and governance structures actually shaping Hive

• and a setting where honest conversation can replace years of silence, fear, or misunderstanding

We're here to —

✅ Help people understand what's actually happening behind the scenes

✅ Surface the real stories behind Hive's institutions and projects

✅ Talk openly about drama, governance friction, and systemic issues

✅ Look for ways forward that strengthen the network instead of dividing it
