I think the world is already far gone into its current destructive path and can only take very drastic measures of hefty proportions to start making it right. I think Trump is already taking such measure with his MAGA propaganda. America for Americans. I support this initiative, I have nothing against Trump for thinking this way. I welcome it.
If I want to go to the United States Of America, I will go as a tourist, see the sights and come back home to my country.
I am an African and I believe multiculturalism is responsible for most of the tension the world is currently facing.
First of all, the west started it and the current mass emigration from the 3rd world into the first world nations is as a result of first and foremost the invasion, colonisation and the exploitation of the lands and peoples of these 3rd world regions by the west. It is all cause and effect. Basically, the west unsettled these regions, now the citizens of these regions want to run to the settled West and inhabit it.
That being said, because of the vastness and complicated nature of this topic, I simply wish to focus on what I think is the problem and not what has led to the problem.
Nigeria as a case study
In my country Nigeria, before Britain came to our shores, we were simply a cluster of kingdoms and big ethnic groups that lived and governed themselves along cultural lines.
In the North, there are hundreds of ethnic groups but by far the largest were the Hausas, then there are the Kanuris, the Fulanis, Tivs, Nupe, Igala, Idoma, Berom etc.
The west predominantly consists of the Yorubas. Just like the Igbos to the East, they are a cluster of different kingdoms and tribes who share same ancestry.
In the East, are the Igbos. A cluster of different powerful tribes who share the same ancestry.
Then the south, the Riverine tribes are made up of the Ijaws, Urhobos, Itsekiris, Isokos, etc.
Before the British came, these many tribes that make up the present day Nigeria had an established ways of governing themselves. They practiced the religions and spitituallities of their ancestors and had rich traditional and cultural heritages unique to them.
There were interactions between and amongst these many tribes, but they usually ended in trade and commerce. The Igbos ruled themselves like they know how to, along cultural and traditional lines. Same as the Yorubas and the rest of the tribes.
In each of their customs and traditions, contained codes and conducts. Rites, rituals, festivals. The things that made them who they are.
When the British came, for the sake of ease of governance, they amalgamated these many different tribes that had different core belief systems under one forced rulership. From then onwards, the existing ways by which these many people conducted their affairs was deemed null and void by the colonial government.
Now, in the present Nigeria's political space, a yoruba man who is the president can outlaw the cultural ways of the Fulani man.
The fulani man who is socio-culturally an alien in the Igbo lands, can become the Chief of Police of an Igbo nation because such powers have been bestowed upon him by the "Nigerian constitution".
Once upon a time, traditional religious practitioners in Kwara state, one of the Yoruba states in the West were stopped from exercising their rights to practice their religion by the Islamic elements in the state because the decision Kwara is deemed an Islamic state and traditional practices were "unofficially" illegal.
You can't openly drink beer or any form of alcohol in Katsina and Zamfara, because these states established Sharia laws, parallel to the general laws of Nigeria.
These are the effects of multiculturalism. If the British hadn't joined everybody up in an unholy matrimony, manny present Nigerian socio-economic and political problems would be nonexistent.
This is nothing but the microcosm of the larger effects of the problems multiculturalism poses globally.
Now replace Nigeria with UK, France, Germany and Sweden. You have foreigners with whom you don't share core cultural values with, settled in your country, are members of your parliaments, leaders of your sociocultural groups.
When a foreigner systematically gains legal access into your home its just a matter of time before they tell you what corner of your house you are allowed to enter.
