I watched Will Smiths irobot more than 20 years ago, it felt like another unrealistic sci-fi movie. Watching how the Robots helped humans do the most basic things was just some ridiculousness. How wrong was I?
20 years couldn't have rolled on any faster and now, it's all happening in real time. AI helping humans do the most basic human things, like thinking and writing. Turns out those sci-fi movies weren't just fictions after all. Remember Terminator?
Hunt for comfort is slowly turning off our capacity for genius and creativity. Well, you could argue that it was some people's ingenuity that created these AI. Yeah, a handful of people successfully turning the whole world into slow thinking, no action vegetables.
Who enjoys reading AI writeups? Not me. Who enjoys AI arts? Not me.
If AI enhances creativity as some people would like to point out then whats the point of creativity? Creativity is indigenous. It should come from within.
Is it all a coincidence and this is just a matter of natural growth in civilization or is there a deliberate engineering going on?
Maybe I am overreacting and this is just humans misusing the newest toy in the stash. Maybe in a few years time, we'd manage to steal our lives back from AI. Or not.
I have been an advocate against AI in certain fields like writing and art generally but you just can't put a cap on where people should channel their creativity. But I am pained because I used to love posing as a writer and earning a few bucks from it. But now, everybody can write by just inputing the right prompts on these AI platforms. It sucks.
Anyway, shout out to the few of us who still sound like ourselves, unique and peculiar. Boo to AI slops and generic gutter contents out there lacking in real human feel.
I may have to write more about this because I don't think I quite captured everything that I feel about AI slops.
