Strangers think I am not approachable because of how my face is always stern whenever I am walking on the street. Neighbours think I am gentle because of how I act around them. Close friends think I am easy to interact with, while my family think I am nice but stubborn. But no one knows about the vulnerable part of me because that is a part I refuse to show anyone.

I might be going through heartbreak and pain, and you will see me, tell me about your problems, and I will comfort you. You will not know that I am also going through a heartbreak because I will put my problems aside to attend to yours.

I have always been like this since the moment I became old enough to be independent.

But I am a totally different person when I am alone with no one watching. Who says men do not cry? I shed tears when I am alone. I let the hot tears flow freely because, at that moment, it is just me and God. I do not need humans to comfort me. God is capable.

I remember some years back, I was going through heartbreak and my elder sister saw me and asked what happened to me. I said nothing. She is someone who can tell when I am sad or when something is wrong just by looking at my face. I guess she can read my facial expressions well, no matter how hard I try to hide them. But then, I never tell her.

She was always right, just that I do not like to share that part of me with her, and not with others too. I go quiet and stay alone when I do not feel good, and when I am happy, I go out again to meet my people.

So, in private, I am someone who lets his guard down, stops pretending to be strong, and lets his emotions get the best of him.
