Bayek got a letter from Amunet. From the letter he learns that another mysterious artifact has been found in the Thebes area of Upper Egypt. This type of artifact can be very dangerous. So Amunet does not want this thing to go into the wrong hands.
That is why Amunet tells Bayek to go to Thebes. There is a messenger there and her name is Merti. Bayek has to meet her because he knows the details about this curse. The main mission was to recover the artifact at any cost.
After Bayek reaches Thebes the situation becomes more scary. There he sees an apparition that looks like Queen Nefertiti. It was killing people. Then Bayek understands that the strange events may be connected with the artifact that Amunet told him about.
Bayek starts a fight with that apparition. At first Bayek attacks it several times with heavy attacks and its health goes down. But after that the apparition becomes more aggresive. It starts jumping and moving around and attacks Bayek again and again. At one point Bayek almost loses all his health. Then Bayek moves a little far from there and heals himself.
Bayek's power bar was fully recharged. So he uses his Overpower Attack. The attack goes through the chest of the apparition. After that the apparition disapears.
As soon as the fight ends everything becomes normal again. Everyone starts doing their own work. No one even seems to care that Bayek just saved them.
Bayek goes towards Luxor to meet Merti because Merti does his business there. When Bayek reaches there one person who was with Merti becomes scared after seeing Bayek. He had seen Bayek fighting with the apparition.
Merti tells Bayek some information about the strange events and the curse in Thebes. People are seeing something like the spirits of dead Pharaohs and everyone is very scared because of this.
Merti tells Bayek that a mysterious artifact may be connected with all these events. Now if Bayek wants to know more about this artifact he has to go to the black market of Thebes and talk with the merchants there.
