The first snowfall happened the night of 11/30. My oldest son was super excited to see the snow in the morning and kept asking if we could have a snowball fight. I told him, "Yes." I got to work and looked out the window, hoping the weather stayed cold for his sake, so the snow didn't melt away in the afternoon.
God was good, and while the snow slowly melted off the streets, it stayed pristine in the yards. I got home, and my wife had already geared the boys up from head to toe and was out in the backyard playing with them.
My oldest was trying to ride his balance bike through the snow. I don't think it went as well as he had envisioned in his head.
My youngest was confused since this was the first time he had seen snow. He hates wearing jackets, but I think he was feeling conflicted with how cold it was.
He threw a few snowballs at me and his mom, and then insisted on having mom pull him around the backyard in a wagon.
We played maybe about half an hour until "disaster" struck and we had to go back inside. My oldest son and I threw snowballs at each other the whole time. What happened next was still a little bit of a blur. Towards the end, I threw a snowball low to avoid hitting him in the head, but I think he ducked and turned his head. Instead of hitting him in his torso, it hit right on the edge of his beanie. After a few seconds, he started crying. I looked and a chunk of snow had perfectly wedged itself in his ear. We got it out and no harm was done, but he was done and ready to warm up inside.
All in all, it was fun and everyone enjoyed themselves. Hopefully we'll get a few more chances to have more snowball fights, go sledding, etc.
Each month, I give away a $1 Goldback or 4 HBD. The winner gets to choose.
Note: Some countries may have prohibitively expensive shipping or delivery, which may not be feasible. I reserve the right to award the winner 4 HBD instead of a Goldback at my discretion.
