I started scrapping silver again, because it lets me continue to stack without actually paying close to $50/oz. I find random lots of jewelry, spoons, dishware, etc. I sell off the good pieces at a premium to pay for the overall cost and keep whatever is left to send to the refiner to melt down.
Every once in a while I find a piece worth keeping for myself. In one of the lots I picked up, I found a Globus Sterling silver pen. It was fully functional with only some small scratches.
I researched the refills, and they only cost $6 for two refills, so I figured I'd give it a chance.
The refill fit perfectly and works great! The pen needs some polishing, but that'll be easy enough with time and some elbow grease. This will be a fun pen to keep around and hand down to my kids. If you come across one of these for a good price, don't hesitate to get one!
