The first time I saw these bars, I knew I had to have one. When I saw the price tag, I was turned off. Little did I know that these bars don't come up for sale often, and they warrant the premium they command.
Obverse
The obverse on these is so smooth. The frosted, matte finish is immaculate. Then, you have the text and Geiger crest in a proof-like finish to add contrast. Anyone can pour a silver bar and stamp it. Very few can pull off this level of detail with such precision.
Schloss Güldengossa is the name of the parent company of Geiger Edalmetalle. Depicted in the image is Castle Güldengossa, which was built in 1720, and where Geiger first started minting their bullion. (Source)
The pictures of it are quite nice. That would be a fun place to tour one day. Who wouldn't want to take a tour of a mansion and discuss precious metals? 😁
Reverse
If you hold the bar under a UV light, there is an "invisible" serial number on the back, which is supposed to match the sticker on the bottom of the bar. This enhanced security feature ensures the bar is genuine and from Geiger, and is a large reason why their products command such a high premium.

The level of detail on this is second to none. Even on the sides of the bar are crisp, detailed ridges stamped all the way around it.
I paid approximately $295 for this. Most generic bars of this size go for $275. While a $20 difference may not seem like much, it's almost triple the premium. For me, that's worth it when I see these selling for $340 just doing a quick search on eBay. If I had the budget for it, I'd grab a case of these because they're such fine quality bars.
