Lately I'm noticing a pattern between gold and silver. For a long time it's been common knowledge that gold typically leads and silver follows and trails behind a little, but eventually catches up. The charts I'm seeing suggest that's changed.

Both gold and silver have been hovering lately where price is concerned. There hasn't been a huge price explosion like we previously saw with silver.

The first image is the 60-day chart for gold. The second image is the 60-day chart for silver.

Look at the dates for the valleys before the increase, and the peaks right before the price decrease. They're very similar, aren't they? Normally there'd be a lag, but there's not a noticeable one here.

The 6-month chart isn't as eerily similar but does show a lot of the same trends. It'll be interesting to see if this trend continues or not.
