Hello friends of Beer! I couldn't pass up this opportunity to share with you what would be my last review of the Peregrina beer series in the context of the #BeerSaturday Challenge. Below you'll find the links to the different presentations of this interesting Venezuelan beer brand, and before continuing, honoring the tradition of this challenge in its week #448, I want to nominate my esteemed friend @nattosenpai to review his favorite beer in the next challenge.

This is the fourth and final part of this series, which has been an interesting research process into the Peregrina brand. As I mentioned in my previous posts, these small, artisanal breweries not only make a huge effort to bring their products to a market tightly monopolized by a commercial brand, but they also cultivate a unique identity for their brands, something that people, at least here in Caracas, have come to appreciate. This time, I've saved the two latest offerings from the Peregrina brand for this final installment: Peregrina Munich Helles and Vienna Lager. These are the strongest versions of the brand, with an alcohol content exceeding 5%, so I decided to try them during my usual Saturday chat with my Discord friends.

Alright, I started the evening by opening the Peregrina Munich Helles, which I had conveniently kept in the freezer to achieve the "bridal veil" effect and enjoy it ice cold. This is the tropical version of the classic German Munich Helles style, with a volume of 250 mL and 5.5% alcohol. I wanted to start with this beer, which has the lowest alcohol content, to set the mood with my friends on Discord.

The IBU of this beer is between 19 and 25, making it more bitter than a Vienna Lager. As I began pouring it into the glass, its intense golden color immediately captivated me, which is why I named this presentation "The German Blonde." I was careful to pour it to avoid creating too much foam and to savor every drop of this beer.

I then toasted the end of this long January with my friends, taking deep sips of this wonderful beer. Being ice cold, it was not only refreshing but also had a very satisfying initial sweetness without being cloying. Its bitterness actually seemed quite mild, which ultimately makes this beer ideal for hot days, which is practically the perpetual climate in this part of the Caribbean.

Then we moved on to the duels in Splinterlands and things started to get interesting! I proceeded to open the next beer, this time with an alcohol content of 6%, ready to unleash my full potential to take first place! This beer, like the previous one, I served with the bridal veil still on the bottle, so its freshness was guaranteed.

This beer literally made me feel euphoric. It's even sweeter than the Munich Heller, although its appearance was less pale, which initially made it less appealing. With the first few sips, I could detect that malty sweetness, and it's quite smooth with an IBU between 16 and 20. It finishes dry and refreshing, with a slight herbal tingle from the hops, and being the first time I'd tried this beer, it left a very good taste in my mouth.

I loved these beers, friends! In the end, I won the Splinterlands mini-tournament. I suppose those two Peregrina beers boosted my audacity to achieve the ultimate victory. As I mentioned before, these are Peregrina's strongest offerings, and honestly, I couldn't tell you which of the two I loved more. I give both a solid 9 and place them first in this beer series, with German Pills in second and Honey Light in an honorable third. If you're in Venezuela and want to try something different, you definitely have to give this craft beer brand a try. Its price is a bit above average at $1.30, but it's worth every penny. Hola amigos de Beer! No podía dejar pasar esta oportunidad para compartir con ustedes la que sería mi última reseña de la serie de cervezas Peregrina en el contexto del #BeerSaturday Challenge. Abajo te dejo los enlaces de las distintas presentaciones de esta interesante marca de cerveza venezolana, y antes de continuar, honrando la tradición de este challenge en su semana #448 quiero nominar a mi estimado @nattosenpai para que nos reseñe su cerveza favorita en el próximo challenge.

Esta sería la cuarta y última parte de esta serie que ha sido un interesante proceso de investigación de la marca Peregrina, ya lo había comentado en mis post anteriores, estas cervecerías pequeñas y artesanales no solo hacen un esfuerzo enorme para llevar sus productos en un mercado férreamente monopolizado por una marca comercial, sino de la identidad que le ponen a sus marcas que las hacen únicas y la gente, por lo menos aquí en Caracas lo ha sabido apreciar. En esta ocasión, dejé para esta última parte las 2 últimas presentaciones de la marca Peregrina: Peregrina Munich Helles & Vienna Lager. Estas son las versiones más fuertes de la marca, su grado alcohólico esta por encima de los 5 grados de alcohol, así que decidí probarlas en mi acostumbrado sábado de tertulias con mis amigos de discord.

Muy bien, comencé la noche de tertulia nocturna con mis amigos abriendo la Peregrina Munich Helles que mantuve convenientemente en el congelador para lograr el efecto "velo de novia" y degustarla bien fría. Esta es la versión tropical del estilo clásico alemán Munich Helles, con un volumen de 250 mL y 5.5 grado alcohólico quise empezar con esta cerveza que tiene el menor grado para poner a tono el ambiente con mis amigos del discord.

El IBU de esta cerveza se encuentra entre 19-25 siendo más amarga que la Vienna Lager y al comenzarla a servir en el vaso resaltaba ese intenso color dorado que me hipnotiza inmediatamente, por eso llamé a esta presentación como "La Catira" alemana, tuve cuidado de servirla para evitar generar mucha espuma y degustar cada gota de esta cerveza.

Brindé entonces con mis amigos el final de este largo mes de enero con profundos sorbos de esta maravillosa cerveza que al estar bien fría no solo era refrescante, sino un dulzor inicial muy satisfactorio sin ser empalagoso, su amargor en realidad me pareció bastante suave lo que en definitiva hacen que esta cerveza sea ideal para días calurosos que es casi el clima perpetuo de esta parte del caribe.

Luego pasamos a los duelos en Splinterlands y las cosas comenzaron a ponerse interesantes! Procedí abrir la siguiente cerveza, esta vez con un grado alcohólico de 6° estaba dispuesto a desatarme para llevarme el primer lugar! Esta cerveza al igual que la anterior la serví con el velo de novia todavía en la botella así que la frescura de esta cerveza estaba asegurada.

Esta cerveza me hizo sentir literalmente eufórico es incluso más dulce que la Munich Heller, aunque su aspecto era menos pálido que lo hacía en principio poco atractivo, al darle lo primeros sorbos era posible detectar ese dulzor maltoso y es bastante suave con un IBU entre 16-20. Termina seco y refrescante, con un leve picor herbal del lúpulo y siendo la primera vez que probaba esta cerveza me dejo un muy buen sabor de boca.

Amé estas cervezas amigos! Al final gané el mini torneo de Splinterlands, supongo que ese par de cervezas Peregrina potenciaron mi audacia para lograr la victoria definitiva. Como dije anteriormente, estas son las presentaciones más fuertes de Peregrina y la verdad es que no sabría decirte cual de las 2 me encantó más, a ambas le doy un sólido 9 y las coloco en el primer lugar de esta serie de cervezas, en segundo lugar la German Pills y en un honroso tercer lugar al Honey Light. Si estas en Venezuela y quieres probar algo diferente, definitivamente tienes que darle una oportunidad a esta marca de cerveza artesanal, su precio esta un poco por encima del promedio: 1.3$ pero vale cada centavo invertido. Con esto termino esta divertida serie de reseñas de esta marca tan original del centro occidente de Venezuela, nos vemos en un próximo challenge descubriendo alguna nueva cerveza artesanal o probando alguna marca comercial nueva para mi.
