No Peace For The Poor!

Yesterday, I talked about how job seekers are now being charged so much money just to submit proposals to get jobs that are not even certain that they will get them. The companies don’t care, they simply want them to end them the little money that they have and still collect commissions when the proposal clicks, and they start earning. It’s a deal from the pit of hell, but sadly, these are the only deals that are available.

And even more sadly, it's crazy how more and more things are becoming way too expensive. We’re now paying for things that should be free, across all areas of life. Nothing comes cheap anymore, and it’s just insane how society is simply choosing to adapt to it instead of rejecting it! It’s crazy!

There was a time on social media when you had to earn the verification badges that the platform provided. At the time, it was like a badge of honor because it was proof that you’d been at the game long enough to be worth it. And many people held it in high esteem. Because having a verified badge meant that you were legit, and people could trust you. Especially when it came to business and money matters.

But then, everything changed when they started selling verified badges, and just like that, you had to subscribe to get the badge. And so, everyone can have it now! Even the illegitimate accounts can just pay to look legitimate. And so, the hype and awe that used to surround the verification badge are now gone.

Or should we talk about how modern cars are now being built with systems that have to be subscribed to if you want to enjoy certain features? If you want to be able to do certain fees, then you must be willing to pay for them. And note, this is never a one-time thing; you’d have to subscribe. And thus pay over and over again.

And the ones that don’t ask for a subscription? They choke you with ads! In a day, if you’re someone who hops from one platform to another, you’ll probably come across nothing less than 30 different ads, if not more. And all of them are urging you to either click on some link or buy something else.

And that is just the reality of the world today. Everything around you is designed to take your money! Things that should be free are being charged, and for what? And corporations aren’t the only guilty ones here, the governments are also culprits! We pay taxes on water, but water is free for everyone! You pay taxes on land that is already paid for and buildings that have already been built.

And even crazier? I heard that a state government is looking to tax people using solar energy to create electricity. It doesn’t matter that they failed to provide regular electricity; they just don’t like the fact that people can spend once on the panels and battery and not be worried about power for the next few years. They don’t like that. And so, they place taxes on it.

So, everything now comes at a cost. And if you can’t afford it, then you’re screwed. And that, my friends, is our reality. There is no peace for the poor man anywhere at all!
