I was just there for a good time, there was no other reason.

It was a Friday and I had just received my paycheck, so what was on my mind was to relax and be taken care of for the weekend. After the close of work, instead of going home, I made my way to the club. Maybe if I was lucky I would score a number.

As usual, the club was noisy and full of sweaty bodies. Pulse-pounding music was blaring from the speakers that were somewhere out of sight, while people in various stages of drunkenness were dancing their hearts out on the dance floor.

I made my way through the throng of people till I got to the bar and placed my order, seeing as I was alone I decided to seat there while I waited for my drink.

It was while I was getting comfortable that I saw her.

Her beauty was heart-stopping; I literally froze as I stared at her, my mouth falling open. How on earth could someone be so beautiful?

She was light-skinned, and it seemed to radiate its own light, and despite her seating on the bar stool, I could see she had a marvelous figure. She was dressed in a black top and black trousers, I could not see her feet though.

I was still admiring her when the bartender came with my drink.

“Who is that lady?” I asked him.

“I don’t know, she is a newcomer.”

“Good,” I nodded as I finished my drink in one gulp. I winced as the alcohol burned through my throat, bringing tears to my eyes.

“You had better calm down,” he suggested.

“Nah,” I muttered. I wanted to approach the lady, and I was not sure I could achieve that without the help of the alcohol. “Wish me luck.”

There was no one in the distance between us, so I came up beside her and leaned against the bar.

“So tell me,” I began, thinking of the best opening line I could think of. “How does it feel to be a fallen angel?”

She turned to look at me, her eyes were cobalt blue I could swim in them. I felt her appraise me, I gave her my most charming smile.

“What did you say?”

I leaned closer to her, “how does it feel to be a fallen angel?”

“Oh…” she leaned back and let out a chuckle, “I guess it has its perks.”

I nodded in appreciation, she was playing along. We would probably do some roleplaying tonight.

“I guess so. You have hardly touched your drink, not like I have been watching you for the past fifteen minutes or anything.” I rolled my eyes, hoping she would get the message.

“I am not thirsty,” she used her index finger to push the glass cup away. Then turned to face me fully, her beauty hit me like the blast of an atomic bomb it was an effort not to look away, I almost did not hear her next words, “can we go somewhere with less noise?”

I blinked, “what?”

“Can we go somewhere else?”

“Like somewhere more private?” I asked stupidly.

“Of course,” then she eased herself off the stool and moved through the crowd. She walked with grace and poise, she didn’t even have to fight her way through the dancers. I stared after her for a few seconds before the bartender tapped me on the shoulder.

“If you keep staring I am going to take your place.”

I let out a chuckle and hurried after her.

Now, while I knew I had confidence in my ability to woo a woman, I had never had it done so quickly before. Was I getting so good at it? Or did I look unusually handsome today?

I didn’t bother to answer my questions as I pushed through the crowd in time to see her exit through the back door. That place was rarely used and it would be good for a quickie. I walked out into the cold night, looking for her.

It was an alley and it was poorly lit, I had to squint my eyes as I searched for her.

“Hello baby, you are not hiding are you?” I muttered in a sing-song voice. I was not in the mood for hide and seek, the games could wait till I took her home.

“Why would I hide?” I heard her say behind me.

As I made to turn I felt something poke into my back, it had a pointy edge and it hurt me.

“What the…” my voice trailed off as I saw her pointing a sword at me. “Okay, I guess we can start the roleplaying here.” I raised my hands in mock surrender.

“How did you know who I was?” She demanded.

“What?”

“Speak, before I run you through.” The tone she used to say that had me lowering my hands immediately, it seemed she was taking the role a little too serious.

“I have no idea―”

In one swift motion, she pulled back the sword and used her free hand to grab me by the neck. Then I was shoved hard against the wall as with a loud swoosh the biggest wings I have ever seen protruded from her back.

“Holy shit!” I screamed in shock, forgetting for a second she was cutting off my air supply, “what the hell!!!”

She was studying me curiously, “why are you not fighting back?”

It was then she must have noticed the shock on my face, “hold on. You do not know I am an angel?”

“How the hell am I supposed to know that?”

“But you said I was a fallen angel, how did you know that?”

“That was my punch line mehn! It was supposed to make you think I was cool.” I let out a cough as she released me, “so are you truly an angel?”

“Yes,” she sheathed her sword and her wings slowly folded into her back and out of sight. It was a sight I would never forget.

How silly of me to think I could be so lucky.

I had to get out of there; I just needed to get home. It was as I turned that she stopped me.

“Hold on, my presence here is supposed to be a secret.”

“Oh, you have no problem with me,” I assured her.

“I am sorry, human. We do have a problem.”

And with the look she was giving me, I knew for a fact I was in big trouble.

The End.
