For us snow is something we do t have in our great country so if we want to go skiing in the winter we either go to indoor ski slope or we take the car to drive to either Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Offcourse Scandinavia or France is a possibility too.
We left the house in hands of the oldest and took care of the dogs and we went to Austria this time.
Austria, like most European states, has a turbulent history. Nevertheless, over the centuries, its own typical Austrian culture has been preserved. And I am not only blogging about the food! At the beginning of the Christian era, the area was taken up by the Romans in their world empire. The Romans built cities and built roads there. The most important Roman settlement in Austria was Carnuntum (the capital of the Roman province of Pannonia Superior) in today's Lower Austria. The city was booming and in 193 Septimius Severus was proclaimed emperor by his troops. Shortly thereafter, the city received the status of colonia. Austria is green and very wide when it come to builded ereas. And most always there is snow. So ideal for a family holiday. The sun is out and the snow conditions are very good. We survived the 9 hour drive and the kids did well. I will Offcourse blog about our adventures!
About 2 years ago I’ve written about the ‘best’ time to submit a blogpost so you’ll receive worldwide exposure.
