My wife and I were looking at our calendar this past weekend and it started to dawn on me that this is the time of year when spare time is in short supply. With the end of the school year approaching and our nieces and nephews participating in various sports, it can feel like you are stuck in a revolving door of coming and going.

The photo above was taken this past weekend when we were down in Detroit watching our niece play volleyball in a tournament. If you want to know more about it, head over to my bozz.sports@bozz.sports account. I will be writing a blog about it later today.

That's the GM Renaissance Center in the background. It's actually a pretty cool building when you can see it. On this raining Saturday morning it was obscured by fog rolling down the Detroit River.

Despite life being in such a hectic place right now, I never lost sight of the fact that today is May 1st and that means it is Hive Power Up Day. I've done my best to participate at least some way in each HPUD for the time that it has been a thing. I am sure I missed one or two here and there, but for me, I have always felt that every day is Hive power up day.

Having never powered down and pretty much always rolling my post rewards back into my HP or HBD savings, I am always slowly but surely building and growing my account.

When I hit 50K Hive Power staked the other day, it was a pretty big deal for me. I was instantly transported back to my early days on Hive. Trying to hit that coveted 500 HP staked mark so I could finally get access to the vote slider. I know it probably doesn't seem this way for a lot of you who are new here, but trust me when I say it used to be so much harder.

Keeping your Vote Power in check was a dance that required a lot of time and effort until you could get that vote slider. I mean, imagine only being able to upvote anything at 100%. That means you got 20 votes per day total until you could get your account up to 500 HP. To say you needed to use them wisely would be an understatement.

I kinda love these little badges that Hivebuzz throws at you every now and then. Usually I just glance at them and move on with my life, but this one I felt I needed to take a screenshot of. As I said in my post last week, I've grown my account pretty organically over the past five years. Actually, according to this badge, I have purchased about 4000 Hive.

While 4000 might not seem like much, you have to remember, I bought a lot of that back when Hive and that other token was much higher than it is now. Even from my early days, I was moving money into Hive so I could hit those milestones. I think that shows just how much I believe in this blockchain.

Which brings me back to my opening photo. Hive is a big beautiful thing. Just like the building. It might be obscured and you might not see the big picture now, but if you are patient and you keep growing and building, eventually the fog will clear away and you will be able to see how it was all worth it.

Your Hive account can be something beautiful. It might be hidden now, or you might only see a portion of the big picture, but it is there. Trust me!
