It's been five days now that my wife and I got back from our trip down south and I am still trying to recover. I think I might have picked up some kind of bug during our travels and I just feel a bit "off". It would actually be nicer if it was a full blown cold or flu or something. That you can pinpoint and know how to treat it. This is just a general sense like my body is out of phase or something and it is quite unsettling.

Speaking of unsettling, the markets seem to be making a bit of a correction as well. Just when we think things are going to start ticking up, we fall back down to these lower prices. BTC is back down around $80,000 and last I checked, HIVE was back below $.05. I was talking to someone the other day and I mentioned that while I still believe in HIVE, I don't have any unrealistic expectations for it. Getting up to $.20 would be fine with me. Of course higher would be better, but I'm not greedy, just give me $.20.

Meanwhile, BTC seems to be fine just bouncing around in that $80K to $85K range for a while. Who knows if we will see anything above that anytime soon.

The Pub

I've been busy lately digging into some AI coding a bit more. I decided to leverage my Google AI Studio (GAIS) account and see if I could come up with some kind of bot to start voting on posts that people make in the The Pub community. So far, I haven't been able to get it to work, but you can see above one of the early mock ups of the dashboard I had it make for me. The scripts are running on a Linux server that I have in my environment and while it was initially all text based, the playground area of Google AI Studio allows you to have it create a front end for that sort of stuff.

If you can see the image clearly, I have some guardrails in place so that only accounts with over a certain amount of rep can be voted and only posts that meet a certain word count as well. I also added a section where I can exclude accounts (like my own) from getting auto voted. My thinking was, I want users to start delegating to thepub@thepub, and if I delegate to it but I am also posting in The Pub community a lot, it could be viewed as vote buying.

Eventually, I also want the system to pay back a percentage of the curation rewards to delegators, but that is something I haven't even started to play with yet. Right now, I can't even get the auto vote to work, so I am going to have to dig back into the code for that.

It's been pretty amazing playing around with the prompts in GAIS, and I can definitely see the draw. Luckily, I know a bit about code that I am not going into this blindly, but I can see how it would be dangerous for people who have no clue.

Eventually I will probably be reaching out to people for some small delegations to thepub@thepub account, but for now I want to try and get it working first.

More AI Coding

In addition to the application I have been toying with above, I also realized it would be cool to have a way to see how much HP I need delegated to thepub@thepub account to give me a specific upvote amount. I got thinking that if I can't get enough delegations to move the account above the $.02 threshold, then it doesn't really matter does it.

I had GAIS make a web app that I then sent out out GitHub and eventually deployed in Vercel that you can access here:

https://delegation-to-vote-tracker-zeta.vercel.app/

It's a simple app, it just has a slider that allows you to see how much HP is delegated to you and then based on the current price of HIVE that you can sync at the top of the screen, you can see how much HP you need to equal a specific vote amount. Up to $10. At current prices I don't see us getting anywhere close to that. In fact, at current prices, it looks like it would take about 4.5 million staked or delegated HP to get you a $10 upvote.

I know there are other solutions out there like Claude that would probably code better than Google AI Studio for me, but this what I have access to, so this is what I am using.

At the encouragement of my wife, I made a small buy the other day of some silver and gold. I'll share the silver with you another time, but when I jumped on the APMEX site and saw these awesome Route 66 Goldbacks for something like $12 a piece, I knew I had to pick a couple up. I snagged one to give to my godson as a gift for Christmas and then at such a low price I had to pick one up for myself as well. I apologize that you can't really see the detail in the photo, but if you go to the APMEX website you can hopefully get a better idea of what it looks like.

GoMining

Just a reminder that GoMining is still a viable and fun way to invest in crypto mining. The clan I am in recently moved up to Horizon league, and while my rewards have dropped a bit from before, we are still pulling in profits every week. I'm not telling you how to spend your money, but it's been a great way for me to take some funds that were just sitting there doing nothing and have them start giving me some kind of return.

It's not a get rich quick scheme, but it's a nice steady stream of passive income.
