Around lunchtime today, a friend of mine who lives on the next street sent me a message asking if I could make some puto for her and have it ready by 5 PM this afternoon.
Thankfully, I still had some ingredients left from the groceries I bought last week, so I was able to prepare everything right away. I had to hurry a little to get the puto ready on time, but luckily, making it wasn't that difficult for me. 😊
Actually, making traditional Filipino rice cakes and other delicacies is something my mom passed down to me when we were younger. I'm grateful that I learned these skills from her because, aside from being able to make delicious treats for my family, I can also earn a little extra money whenever there's an opportunity.
Well, ₱350 is still ₱350, right? HAHAHA! 😂💰 Every little income counts, especially when you can earn it by doing something you enjoy.
Since I didn't have work today, this little order became a perfect side hustle for me. I'm just hoping that my friend's guests will enjoy the homemade puto as much as I enjoyed preparing it. 🥰🍡
And that's a little story from my day, dear friends! Sometimes, unexpected opportunities come our way when we least expect them. We just have to make the most of what we have and do our best.
