There is a small grocery store in the village called Liznjan, only about 3 - 4 kilometers from my hometown.
Now is the peak of the tourist season in this area, and although pretty small, my hometown is one of the major centers of those tourist activities. The streets and beaches that look desolate in winter are overpopulated these days, and so are the stores, bakeries and supermarkets as well. Meanwhile, Liznjan ...
... is still a relatively quiet place. Not calm and empty like in winter, far from that, but there is less tourism - related infrastructure and overall craziness. It's a place for a different kind of tourism. No big hotels, no beach loungers rental. Just a couple of beach bars and kilometers of wild coastline. Everything is more relaxed, there is more time to spend by the sea instead of waiting for hours in line for bread, beer or whatever one would like to buy.
So, when it's time to get some basic groceries, I drive to Liznjan ...
... and sometimes I bring a friend or two with me, so they can also do their shopping in a more relaxed way. These photographs were taken this morning, late in the morning, while one of those friends was buying stuff inside the mini - market.
I was searching for interesting details on a hot summer day, in the part of the village that I never considered interesting. It's a pretty unremarkable neighborhood in between the old center and the port, two highlights of Liznjan. But I did find a couple of things to put on photographs ... besides the aforementioned grocery store. These oleander flowers were pretty photogenic ...
... and the advertising material for some big supermarket, stuck inside the mailbox of the house across the street, also looked kinda cool.
This new house, completed during the last winter, also caught my attention. It stood out from the rest. I mean - nothing special, just slightly different architecture.
After the friend bought what she had to buy ...
... we drove to the port.
Some small speed boat was speeding to the horizon ...
... and some surprisingly big inflatable boat was resting on the firm land.
The aforementioned friend did a bit of shopping here in the port as well.
There is a fruit & vegetables stand in the shade under the old evergreen oak tree. It sells only the products from a couple of local farms. Only fresh, seasonal stuff. Extremely tasty stuff, and the price are also sweet, not salty. While my friend and the old farmer were completing the transaction ...
... this magpie was overlooking the scene.
It looked like the bird is here to make sure that everything goes smoothly ... a discreet, fathered overseer ...
... on the top of some tree across the narrow street.
When that final shopping was done ...
... we continued rambling around the port ...
... but not for long. The high noon was almost there, it was getting realy hot ...
... so, after this shot was taken, we drove home.
And that's all. As always in these posts on HIVE, the photographs are my work - THE END.
