So is the cheese good for you? If you asked me the answer would be, at least for the spirit - absolutely! I really like cheese - and so do most dogs.

But on a more serious note, recent research seems to contradict previously assumed wisdom on the subject. We used to believe that it was bad for the blood vessels and heart as it has lots of fat - but latest research challenges that assumption. And saturated fats often found in cheese apparently works to lower your cholesterol.

It was also a common assumption that excess calcium was bad as it potentially contributed to kidney stone formation. But that is apparently not quite the case, according to recent research. In fact, it seems, in some situations it is lack of calcium that causes kidney stones - a problem cheese can help you fix.

Are you confused by all that? I admit I am. Personally, I believe it is likely the case that different people's bodies may process food in drastically different ways thus explaining that simplistic analysis and assumptions may simply not apply. And that, in fact, may be the next level of understanding in life sciences.

So for now I intend to cheese right on. As for you - feel free to make your own choices, I am just a messenger here.
