I first stopped talking to my sister over 2 years ago now. To be fair, the movement had originally started with her -- she suddenly and without warning went MIA.
When I confronted her about her absence, I received back, "Oh, yeah! -- I guess I just didn't like being around you smoking weed."
Despite the fact I hardly ever smoked in front of her, and the last time I had was a year, if not YEARS ago.
(And I'm not even going to begin to defend weed -- this God-given medicine has saved my life on 4 separate occasions while fighting a deliberating condition.)
This is the same sister who abandoned me, while I was 3,000km away from home and being physically ab馃ゴed by my ex, because I "didn't take her advice" of just "simply" leaving and driving home by myself.
So, I thought, that's enough, and Blocked her on everything. She has since moved to the UK and is engaged to her fiance.
Jesus reiterates this lesson in the New Testament:
And again in Luke:
God tells us not to look back because the past can tarnish the future. When we think of the past, we often do so negatively: with regret, shame, anger, unsatisfaction -- even the happy moments we recall sorrowfully, knowing we can never go back. We waste so much of our lives being stuck in a time that has long since passed, that already existed, over the future that calls us to actively focus upon it.
God tells us not to look back because He has SAVED us from those situations, from those people, for a reason -- and you can guarantee that reason is for YOUR BETTERMENT. We sacrifice the vices, habits, environments, and bad influences for the sake of a better us, a better tomorrow.
I realize this -- I have ALREADY realized this awhile ago. I have already established contact with those who never repented for their prior sins against me first, and it simply does not work.
I do not want it to. God has already removed several people/stumbling blocks from my life since I started walking on His path. No regrets. I pray that He continues to remove anyone else who is a hindrance to my progress.
