“Oh No!!! This is the worst”, Rose stared at the message in her phone shocked.
“What happened ?”, Lily asked peeking over her workspace.
“It’s Allie....”, Rose replied as she hastily grabbed her purse.
“Wait .... wasn’t today the day she .... Oh damn... how bad it is ?” Lily asked concerned.
“Very bad ... like SOS bad”, said Rose as she darted out of the office.
Across the street, in a small cafe, a woman sat across a young good looking man, taking small sips of water.
“Was the Sandwich not to your liking? I am so sorry ...We should have gone to some other place after the waitress said they were out of salad”, He said apologising.
“No it was really good. And you told me you loved eating here so it’s .... okay”, She replied slowly covering her mouth and avoiding eye contact.
Her phone chimed and she awkwardly stood up and announced “I’ll be heading to the washroom for a bit”.
Rose was waiting in the washroom.
“Thank God you made it in time... It was sooo awkward ....”, Allie said with relieving sigh.
“Geez Girl ... your breath stinks”, Rose complained tilting her head away as she handed over a little box.
“I never thought there would be onions in the sandwich ... That’s why I called you to get mint. Nothing is worse than stinking breath on a lunch date”, Allie said as she popped a few mint.
