I've seen a lot of great content on here, but as I alluded to in the past, there seems to be a deluge of crypto-centric posts drowning out the rest. Now, I'm not against the crypto posts--it's a very central interest to most, if not all, of the people on here and I post mostly about our mining operation; However, I like it when I stumble upon posts in the new posts section that take me out of the daily space and give me necessary reminders that there is life beyond the financial world.

One of the things I'd like to see more of is fiction writing, and it's something I'm going to start contributing as well. I have several shorts--as I'm sure many other writers do--that might find a new audience here. I encourage anyone with aspirations of writing to join this community not only for personal gain but to help everyone here achieve more by bringing more value to Steemit.

Many of my older writing friends worry that books are dying. Even if that were true, it doesn't mean that reading is dying; We're doing more and more reading every day, and though the colloquialisms run rampant--often accompanied by terrible spelling and grammar--the overall content being generated still reflects who we are, how we feel, and what we most desire. It is more important now than ever to have a more modern way of sharing our existence through knowledge and ideas with the ability to attach a simpler, self-sustaining economy.

Steemit represents not only a great opportunity for developing as a writer, but it also means a chance for people to develop as readers; To carry on sharing our thoughts with precision and concision. Having a pre-existing incentive for people to seek out quality content means that quality content is not only rewarded but that more good writers will emerge because the discovery rate will increase.

I hope for a time when writers can simply be good at what they do to get noticed and rewarded, and I believe that technologies like Steemit are the beginning of that future.
